Which cookies this site uses, what they are for, and why you are not asked for consent today.

This page explains which cookies and similar technologies are used on the MISEE website, for what purpose, and how you can control them. It is the notice required by article 122 of the Italian Privacy Code (legislative decree 196/2003) and by the cookie guidelines issued by the Italian Data Protection Authority on 10 June 2021.
In short: this site only installs technical cookies, which are needed to make it work. We do not use profiling cookies, we do not run behavioural advertising, and we do not share your browsing with advertising networks. That is why there is no banner asking for your consent: for technical cookies alone, the law does not require one.
Cookies are small text files that websites store on a visitor's device. They keep information across pages: without them the site could not remember, for instance, that you are signed in as you move from the catalogue to the cart.
A cookie is a «first party» cookie when it is set by the site you are visiting, and a «third party» cookie when it is set by a different party whose content is embedded in the page.
The law classifies cookies by purpose, not by technology. It is the purpose that determines whether your prior consent is needed:
Every cookie listed below is a technical cookie. They are installed so the site can perform the tasks you ask of it: signing you in, keeping your cart, remembering your language, completing a payment.
None of them is used to profile you, and the information they hold is not passed on to third parties for commercial purposes.

This list reflects the cookies actually installed as at the last update shown above. Should we introduce tools that require consent, this page will be updated and a banner will appear to collect that consent before they are installed.
When you choose to pay by card, the form where you enter your details is not served by us: it is hosted directly by the systems of the payment provider, Nexi, inside the page. Your card details never pass through our servers.
In order to work, that form may set its own technical cookies, needed to keep the payment session alive and to run the required fraud checks. They are strictly functional to the operation you requested and are only installed if you start a card payment.
Processing carried out by Nexi is governed by its own privacy notice, published on nexi.it.
Besides cookies, the site uses the browser's local storage (sessionStorage) for a technical measure that correctly reloads the page when you navigate back with the browser button. It holds no personal data, it is never transmitted to any server, and it is cleared when the tab is closed.
Fonts and icons are hosted on our own servers rather than on external services: opening a page triggers no calls to third-party providers that could record your IP address.
Because we do not install cookies that require consent, there is no preference panel to manage. You can nevertheless act at any time through your browser settings:
Please note that blocking or deleting technical cookies will break some functionality: in particular you will not be able to stay signed in, keep your cart, or complete an order.
This cookie policy may be updated to reflect changes to the site or to the applicable law. The date at the top of the page shows the last update. Should we introduce cookies subject to consent, you will be asked explicitly before they are installed.
